Saarbrücken - What a concert evening! Stargeiger André Rieu (67) yesterday sparked rapturous storms in the crowded Saarlandhalle.

There was darkened, clapped, laughed and sung, what the stuff holds. On the stage: a good-humored Rieu, who presented his skills on his nearly 300-year-old Stradivari.

"I am looking forward to a whole evening with music", the violinist greeted his guests. "Music brings people together, wherever they are."

With on stage: the gigantic Johann Strauss Orchestra . With him, Rieu presented melodies from 150 years of musical history: arias, folk songs, pop songs, musical melodies, film hits - and of course his beloved waltzes!

There were also "On the beautiful blue Danube" and "G'schichten from the Wienerwald" of his great example Johann Strauss could not be missing. At the success camp "The small pub", the Saarlanders even voted in, sang loudly.

The musician jokingly said: "I have already been told that the most musical audience in the world lives in Saarbrücken."

At the end it was enthusiastic applause for the success of musicians - and for an unforgettable evening!
